Sugar Cookies by Steph's Sugar Cookie Recipe!

The day has finally come that Stephanie has taught me how to make her cookies. It was SO much fun! I never realized how much work goes into those little bites of happiness!  Check out the vlog here and try out her amazing recipe! 

Sugar cookie recipe

Ingredients:

1 ½ C sugar 1 C butter, softened 3 eggs 1 tsp vanilla ½ tsp salt 4 tsp baking powder 4 C flour

Instructions:

1. Cream sugar and butter together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well between each addition. Add vanilla and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine salt, baking powder and flour; gradually add to creamed mixture. Mix well. 2. Roll out on floured surface. Cut into shapes. 3. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.  

Royal frosting

Ingredients:

4 lbs. powdered sugar 3/4 C  meringue powder 2 Tbsp vanilla (or any flavoring you prefer) 1 1/3 C warm water.

Instructions:

Lightly combine powdered sugar and meringue powder. In measuring cup, combine water and vanilla. add water mixture to powdered sugar mixture and mix with electric mixer until you have stiff peaks.   • This is a good recipe, tried and true. Rolls out very easily and feels fluffy to the touch. Stick to the 8-10 mins bake time and they’ll turn out just fine. Only addition, a little extra vanilla and perfect, personal preference. Thanks for sharing!

  • The cookies turned out a bit bland. I followed the recipe exactly. Are they suppose to be bland, then get the awesome flavor from the frosting. I’ve tried so many sugar cookie recipes before and have been 100% disappointed with them. This is the first recipe that I didn’t want to throw into the trash. Having not been successful in finding a good recipe before, I’m just not sure if they turned out how sugar cookies are suppose to.

  • I would just like a confirmation that stephs sugar cookie recipe uses 4 teaspoons of baking powder. I am wondering if it should read 1/4 tsp
